SUP Whitewater Challenge in France – Event Report.

The idea is simple: invite 20 whitewater SUP paddlers for a new World Class Event in Cher valley, France.

On March 11th and 12th, no less than 17 paddlers gathered on the Mazelle spot. The wave was perfect for Surfing. We started with a free session, surfing all together, then the competition started.
Local paddler Ronan Appriou impressed the judges and won the surfing contest.
Then we did a SUP mass start race, a strong and fun race led by Nico Fayol (team JP Australia) from the beginning. Then we head to Tournon city for a night expression session on the spot. After the show party and kayak movie projection with « Les eaux blanches » by Hugo Cluzeaux.

Sunday was the SUP Cross on Tournon’s whitewater course. Loris Minvielle won the sup cross finale. Nico Fayol won the overal ranking, and Loris Minvielle and Benjamin Vaurs came second and third.
In the women category, Ingrid Ulrich on her pink board Gong, made a strong impression by competing with men. Again “bravo Madame”.

An « expression Session », Sup Surfing by night also happened during this event. Fun times!!

The organization already considers of the 2018 edition, which will take place on another location, but always with the same program: whitewater, surfing and Sup Cross.

Thanks to the organizers, volunteers, riders for making this event possible!

The organization Team would like to thank all its sponsors: Fanatic- Jp Australia- anonym Sup – 3 Bay – ION – NP – Body Glove.
